Clare feels she could (possibly) have one of the best jobs in the world! She is the Craft Adviser for the NFWI (National Federation of Women’s Institutes) and her role is to enthuse and inspire their members to get making. Clare trained as an embroidery/textile artist and ran her own community art practice for 15 years before taking on this amazing role. The WI members are known for their knitting and stitching skills, however, many of the members today are paper cutting, woodcarving, glass engraving and creating silverware as much as they are knitting and stitching. Clare’s role is to create new projects and collaborations to ensure that the role of the WI maker is still as famous in the next 100 years as it is today!
